Hi All

A few weeks back I photographed a track event at donnington - any critique on my shots is very welcome - I'm going to a few races over the coming months and want to do the best I can!

All shot with the Sigma 120-300mm F2.8, some I used the 1.4x
I've decided I will be getting a 2x because I liked shooting Mcleans but wanted more reach :)

C&C very VERY welcome!

THanks for looking

Richard

If in doubt, I shut up...

Gear: 40D, 12-24mm AT-X Pro, 17-85mm, Sigma 150mm Macro Sigma 100-300 F4, 550EX, other stuff that probably helps me on my way.

I like 'em.

Johnny Leroux is a masterful trackdriver and the sideways action in shots 6 and 7 will have been under total control.

By the way its Donington

Hiya

I was at McLeans about 100 yards round from the marshals post. Nice spot but you need really long glass to make something of it. For the head on and 3/4 shots I was at 420mm and struggling!

Thanks Dodger, will get spelling right one day!
Do you know Johnny then?

These look very good Richard. It looks like the driver in numbers 6 & 7 has spun out and is headed the wrong way in #7?

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Nice work. I wouldn't bother with the 2x and Sigma 120-300mm combination. The AF is too slow for reliable motorsport work. Shoot wider and be happy about it.

Tight shots on cars can be rather dull if that's all you post and the angle into Mcleans is one of the few shots at Donington where a wider angle works. There's not so much clutter in the background there.
