Blue-tailed Damsels

A few more river damsels, had to work hard for the IDs as there seems to be quite a lot of colour variation; corrections greatfully received.

#5 is indeed an immature rufescens female.

Great series. Can't help with the ids though They are all very sharp and colorful. The crops are a little too tight for my taste though #2 and #3 are my favorite

So what do you get when you cross an elegans with a rufescens?

Thanks everyone. Glad you think they are sharp, I am not quite satisfied with the sharpness I am getting in these shots but you only see the better ones.

The IDs are very confussing, I now think #4 may be a violacea female, which is the female form following the teneral phase that matures into the androchrome (blue female) or infurscans form acording to this reference I came across.

I guess it would be easier if I did not try and ID them but it drives me nuts to not know what they are.
