Yes flash was used but the light conditions were bright so it would have been partially acting as fill flash (ISO200, F11, 1/200th)

Just stunning - reminds me of that old poster that used to appear on doctor's waiting room walls - the one about flies feeding and then it being your turn.

Ahhh yes!! I'm a huge fan of the Aliens movies, in fact, I just bought a 12" McFarlane Alien figure ;) He looks grand as well.
