My first albino bug!

I'm taking a break from my reversed-lens experimentation, so these are just regular macro shots.

Here is a colorful little fly that I thoguht turned out pretty well:

And finally a larger fly that I found just sitting on a leaf:

The reaseon I stopped is because the working distance on my reversed-lens setup is just dismal. I usually hit the leaves and scare the bugs before the come into focus. It is seriously less than a centimeter. I don't think there is any way to artificially increse this, so I may just give up on it. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

pretty flies. Reversed lenses are just not the easiest way to shoot high mag.You did well under the circumstances.

Excellent work! All three pics are really good :)

The albino fly is unbelievable!!! I didn't know this can happen to insects too. What a find and capture :D

I suspect the albino might not be albino, but a younger fly which hasn't fully formed yet. I could be wrong...

Nice shots though. The 2nd is a dolichopodidae.
