Wow great shots, shows what can be done with a standard lens and tubes.

OOC, how much in tubes were used to create these shots?

I have the same lens, Amazing what its capable of with some extension tubes...

Nice shots racketman, the 50mm/tubes is indeed a great combo, with optical quality being pretty damn good. The only real drawback is working distance, everything else is fantastic.

I would also like to know what the length of the extension tubes you used was. And did you use any light other than natural?

All taken with the full set of 3 tubes and a flash gun. Not used to this set up so the lighting could be improved. It would be tough to use natural light at this mag for anything moving and you would really need a tripod.

I've been thinking about extension tubes for a while to use on my 50mm. I think you have convinced me to spend the money

I have a few 50mm-ish M42 lenses and a set of 3 M42 tubes I gotta dig them out and try. Macro for silly money. Need a tripod tho' that close I reckon?
