It seems like, on the large pack, theres some extra storage even in the photo compartment. Is the large pack REALLY almost 10 pounds. That seems ludicrous.

The upper compartment of the Large backpack is too small to be effectively used for any major storage. If you unzip the separator, and reorganize the camera compartment, maybe you could get some of the stuff in there. Definitely not the Sleeping bag and the tent. You may be able to strap that to the sides though. I would recommend buying a hiking rucksack and then modifying it to be able to hold your camera gear. it will be more comfortable and you'll be able to carry the proper gear. R.M. Gelan Hopkins
