After one last read through the advice here, here is my first attempt at the local track.

Critique and comments welcome.

Thanks,
Rich

I had no idea they were moving untill you told us. Try for slower shutter speeds to make that more apperant. Gluck :)

It's pretty obvious that they're moving because I can see some tire rotation. However, I think the rotation is a little too frozen...ie just a bit slower speeds and you're golden. Also, if you can open up your aperture to blur more of the background you'd have an even nicer "pop". :)

Thanks for the comments. I need to pick up a ND filter and/or a polarizer for my new 70-200. The sun is to bright down here to get an somewhat open aperature and a slower shutter speed even at ISO 100. It was a tough balance. Keeping the shutter under 400 closed the lens down to f/16 at times.

Usually I run into not enough light, not too much. I wanted to shoot at f/6 - f/8 to control DOF but the sun did not cooperate.

Mods: Photoshopped version shrunk down to 800 wide attached. Next time I will try to remember to hit the apply button. Sorry!

Rich

Yeah I bought a 3 stop ND filter for my 70-200. It's a Hoya Multi-Coated and only cost me about $55 from Adorama.

Cadwell,
You may need to clear your browser cache. When I click your edited link and the image comes up as 800 x 533 78K jpg.
