I had gone for a walk and put the lens on the camera and I suddenly saw this owl fly up from the shrubbery along the path. 300mm, 1/800s, f/10, ISO 200, lens hood, Hoya UV filter. Wow! Stumbled onto this thread as I am totally new and do have this lens... I really like this shot.
