These are not with a "macro" lens or extensions, really, but my Sigma 70-300mm has a macro switch at 200-300mm lengths.

Anyway, these are some of my attempts (all hand held):

From what I can gather this is probably a green metallic bee.

The last one is not quite as sharp because the wasp was rubbing his abdomen with his back leg. I just like the action of it.

Excellent shots- I know how difficult that lens is to use in macro mode. One of the members here (Airbrontosaurus) has had great success with that lens using it at 70mm with a set of Kenko ext tubes.

nice series of shots...... however it would help if you posted them a bit bigger (maximum size is 800 pixels at widest dimension) that way we could see a little more detail.
