Friday last I heard the lonesome call of the Cache Valley local . . . and I heeded this sound to the crossing near Petersboro, Utah. Spring storms still plague the folks down there, as they do us. Regardless my nifty fifty captured this with some help from my 20D. Got to love those fixed focal lengths. You only need one shot if it is a good one. Photo attached.

Strange. I'm seeing an "attached image" box, but no image displays? Does anyone else get that?

Very nicely done. You're right, you only need one shot if it's a good one like this. But dont stop on account of that. ;)
PS, Those little 50's work well, dont they? :D

Thank you my fine friends . . . with my 17-85 in the shop for focus repair, due to dust, I have had to use my wonderful 50/1.4 and I quite like the different results I am getting. I am surprised I don't have buck fever, with only one shot . . . and all. But the old nerves held good and of the three I was able to get off, this being the last, any of them would have worked out.

As to the Union Pacific being clean, lol, the UP don't waste no money in the wash rack, and a local may never see one. We had a little hail storm go through, the kind that beats the bugs off your car but does not damage it. That is what cleaned up this old girl, lol. took oil stains and fuel spill, etc., et al. and beat them off. My old truck got a wash this same way, lol, look better than I remember . . .

Anyway thanks for the look and the kind words. Us simple folk out in the sticks live and see a much different world than perhaps many here. I could hear the horn from over 15 miles away, echo out across the valley, I hear the geese and the ducks, sandhills and such for my background noise. In many places this local would have come and gone, and no one would have even known.

My best to you all

Beautiful shot, Rod!! Gorgeous colors and scenery, as usual.
