Found a Larder or Bacon beetle (Dermestes lardarius) in an empty jar...

Good capture- could do with some noise reduction though. Think I'm glad I've never seen one of these :)

Nice shot, nice unusual looking beetle. As Brian said, could do with some noise reduction, but everything else is fine!

Thanks for your comments. The noise was actually introduced when I saved the image, must have been compressing it too much.... The original has no visible noise (ISO 100).

Yes, it was empty - it was an empty plastic jar on a shelf in our summer cottage (no one has been there since last fall). Guess that this fellow hadn't been there very long...
