As far as composition, he may be refering to how the main interest (the head) in the first shot is centered. And in the 2nd shot the legs are cut off and the frame seems slanted.

But still, those are some nice captures.

Well, it's just like Stefan said; but those are nice pics anyway. You can't just walk around deers as you'd like to get a great composition, 'cause they get scared... better to shot them while you can/see them ;)

I love the first shot. The composition doesn't bother me at all. It would have been nice if the baby didn't have his ass pointing at the camera but it's still a very endearing capture. The lighting is beautiful.

Well done.

I really like the first one. If you were to crop the right hand deer to portrait format I think it would work better. Even though it's main stance is facing away from you the head turned back towards you works well for this cropping. The deer in the background of this one I find somewhat distracting. Good exposure and color balance.

One thing to remember about the presentation of an image. Everyone is going to have a different opinion about how the subject should be positioned in the image. Lots of people like to talk about the "rule of thirds" and while it applies many times, it also isn't a hard fast rule that can be applied to each and every image. What I find distasteful about an image, the next person can love it. Photography is a subjective art and in most cases, there is no right or wrong way to present your final product.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I like the way how the deer are nice and sharp with the background blurred. It really makes them stand out.

Let's see your suggestion.
