family shot

i need some advice.

I will be taking a family picture with 7 people, out doors, on a tripod, with a self timer, with my g3 (got it ) ok. what would be a good setting to have my g3 interms of fstop and shutter speed also iso speed? I want this to be quick and painless (inlaw issues) if you know what i mean. 2 of the 7 are children.

As low of an iso as you can get away with to avoid noise. I was thinking using A-dep mode, but just looked on my G5 and that's out. You don't want to shoot with your lens wide open so as to maximize your depth of field, although on the G3, not as much of an issue. Stop down to f4 or f5.6. Outdoors you should be fine with shutter speed at those apertures, but you're also using a tripod so shake isn't an issue, but subject movement still is. If these are going to be special shots, you might also want to think about using exposure bracketing to maximise your odds. Good luck.

i tried the exp. brackting before and it works great. i hope i can get away with 50 iso for noise.
