I have found that as I advance in years, the weight of my kit means I often leave my tripod at home or in the car.
I have come up with a set of kit that is lightweight, affordable and most important means that I actually take it with me.
Canon G6 1lb 1oz
Nodal ninja sph2 with Quick release and T bracket. 1lb 8oz
Manfrotto magnesium 460 head 0lb 14oz
Cullmann Magic 2 Tripod 2lb 7oz
Totak kit 5lb 14oz
Of course you need to add in the weight of a camera bag and a few minimum accessories.
The magic also converts to a monopod by using one leg and the centre pole, for an even lighter kit.( I then use a small ball and socket head)
The cullmann magic is about the minimum useable tripod, though it is sturdier if you hang a bag on it, it is well made.
my normal tripod weighs more than the entire kit, and it still comes along for the ride, for when there is not too much walking.
My third tripod is a lightweight wooden one, which comes somewhere in between and can be easily carried moderate distances.

Hope this helps with Ideas for others who leave their kit at home
