I was on campus trying out my new rebel xt with some ducks, and spotted a family feeding a small group of the locals. :) C&C welcome!

Go Pokes! (assuming you're in Stillwater that is...) Can't see enough of the campus to be sure, but it does look like the student union in the background. Been a long time since I've been back. Are you currently an art student there?

looks a bit out of focus and lacking in contrast there... composition may need some adjustment too, i'm not sure what the subject is supposed to be, so a change in crop may help. just keep shooting, and by the time you have >3000 pics on the "kit lens" (well, not really a kit lens for xt, but that used to be a kit for some of the newer film cameras last time i was at a camera shop), you'll probably be watching those ducks roast in your bbq ;)

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I am actually a biochemistry grad student. originally from houston.

this image is cropped a bit different with no contrast alterations (ie original.) I am a total newb at photography... not sure if this crop helps or makes things or causes more problems.

You may want to crop a little close to the subject and boost the saturation. On the same topic, here are a couple of shots I took at Theta Pond: http://www.bowlesonline.com/osu-theta-pond-ducks-geese (external link)

How nice of that family to stop by and feed the summer school students!;) I like it, you are braver than I am, I'm always afraid I'll be caught taking shots in public! Did you ask first? Thanks for sharing!
