Concert setting question

Hi,
I need help with the settings for my S30. The concert is at night, covered stage outdoor. I'm sitting 18 rows from the the stage. I don't want to use the flash.

What setting should I use to get the best photos of the singers on stage?

Automatic?
Nightime?
Other?

Well, 18 rows back and the flash wouldn't help anyway. Your main problem will be to get a usable shutter speed to avoid camera shake ( unless your using a tripod). Not that familier with the controls on the S30, you might want to also post in the compacts P&S forum. If you have manual control, try raising your iso, and opening your aperture in order to get a usable shutter speed.

Thanks. I'll get out the manual and try and figure out how to raise the iso!
There's also a setting P that might work, but the manual just doesn't cover issues like Live Concerts.

Try shooting some with 1 to 2 stops under-exposure. Works for me at stage performances, to avoid pasty-white faces.
