I notice some people put their signature on their photos. My question is when is this appropriate? If I do a shoot and offer some proofs, should I sign the photos or not? Where would one use this? Thanks for your reply.

Putting a signature on a print ruins the flow of the image, IMO. I DO, however, sign the mats that I sell my photos in. That is okay because it doesn't compromise the photograph.
