I notice some people put their signature on their photos. My question is when is this appropriate? If I do a shoot and offer some proofs, should I sign the photos or not? Where would one use this? Thanks for your reply.

When i do weddings and i make a proof book for my clients, i have my lab make a white border around ALL of my proofs and have (C) Adelle Cousins its not my actual business name, nor my signature that i use, but its just to show that every single photo posted in the proof book i photographed.

I never sign prints, ever. Putting a signature on a print ruins the flow of the image, IMO. I DO, however, sign the mats that I sell my photos in. That is okay because it doesn't compromise the photograph.

Great point. however, God isn't selling a copy of it to anyone and hoping they don't go to CVS and make prints. LOL.

I think its personal choice, i never sign the actual photo just the border on the print...its an extra $40 to get it done to over 300 photo's but i think its worth it - comes out looking very professional
