Hi there,

here's a shot I got today at an open plains zoo, I shot about 9 shots from when he broke the surface to when he rose right out of the water.

Here's a small fact, they have killed more people in Africa than any other animal!

Damn they're huge teeth. Good thing they're not carnivores :p Looks like that bite could pack quite a punch.

as I said before they have killed more humans than any other animal in africa, the only thing to have kille more is the mosquitto!

Very nice!! And, yes, they are incredibly dangerous. Beautiful to watch and photograph, but they will attack a person in a heartbeat with little warning.

Yes I have heard of the unpredictableness of the Hippo and attack without warning.
And with teeth like that I would run a mile.

The interesting thing about this photograph is the Hippo is giving warning by showing of his teeth, most people think that he is yawning, but nope, he's showing to get lost or face the music!

They can run 40km/h!!
