I dont like my Fisheye lens.. well actually its just an adapter but I like the look of certain shots done by Fisheye lenses. Therefore I am looking into buying a new one.

Can anyone recommend a good Fisheye lens? The only ones I found that sounded decent only had manual focus. I would prefer both, manual and automatic.

In addition.. what regular wide angle lens do you recommend? I really need to get me that too as my attachment sucks as much as the Fisheye lens does.

Thanks in advance

I'd go ask in the lenses forum, the gear guys know about this stuff. Personally i'd not bother with a fisheye, it's a cool effect but i'd rather have a good wide lens myself. I use a Tokina 12-24 F4, it works quite well.

Well with the 1.6X Crop cameras, I don't think there really are any truly fishy automatic lens. The 15mm Canon Fisheye, loses alot of fishyness because of the crop factor. Sigma makes an 8mm auto focus fisheye lens. It gets mixed reviews though.

As for super wide angle, I am using the EF-S 10-22mm and love it. Super Wide Angle. Almost too wide for most wedding work. I've shot my last two weddings without even using it. But you can get some crazy shots with it, hence why I plan on keeping it.

Toogy.. whats the widest aperture that one lets you use? I would like something if possible 1.8 or 2.8 at the most if one like that is out there

For what? The Fisheye? or the Wide-Angle?

In either situation I can't imagine why I could ever want anything less than F4 in a wide angle or fisheye lens anyways. The DOF is insane with a wide angle lens like these, plus with such short focal lengths, they can easily be handheld at pretty slow shutter speeds.

I just figured that when I need it for an indoor shoot.... lets say to show the whole room of the wedding reception then I might need a wider aperture? Well guess I can always use flash.. but if there is a lens like that then I might rather go for that.. I dont know

You'll be hard pressed to find a wide lens that fast - the 16-35L is F2.8 and that's the fastest I know of.

Song go into the lens section i asked the same question lol basically the 10-22mm is what majority said. Fisheyes are a little too round for my liking so i prefer a nice wide angle lens instead because then i can use it for group shots too and its not too distorted.

Thanks! Me too! :D

About the peleng being manual, don't worry about it... with such a short focal lenght, you put focus on infinite and almost everything will be in focus...

I'm digging the EF 15mm fish on my 5D, but if I was using it on a crop body I like the effect of the Peleng...I think tiziano's shot is a good example of it. Here's one with the 15mm on the 5D at a recent wedding:
