Well I was asked by two of my co-workers to come take some photos for their website. The webiste deals with all of the local skateboarding parks in the city of Winnipeg as well as all the local skateboarding happenings. So as someone that shoots mostly weddings it was something very different for me, and it was the first time shooting something like this. I also must say as someone that just got a 1D MKII... that camera freakin' rocks for stuff like this!!! The servo tracking is incredible, even with a Sigma 24-70mm f2.8

So take a look at the shots at http://www.kampphotography.com/winnipegskateparks/ (external link) and let me know what you think :)

Here is just a sample, there are 47 total on the linked page above...

yeah he doesn't know why he sticks it out, but he does with every jump. But he's been skating for 12+ years so, so far so good.

Very nice job. I too like the overexposed look; it really isolates the subject and gives it a markedly different feel to it than all your other images. One shot in particular that I really liked, (let's see how well I can describe it), was the third one that appears in your flash gallery. The angle is great and the overall exposure (capturing the vibrant blue sky and the reflective concrete ramp) is awesome.

I am hoping to shoot some skateboarding pretty soon, so this definitely serves as a little inspirado. Nice job.

I will be original and say that I love the overexposed too.....
It will be great for adding advertising over/around. Clean and non-distracting. For what you were asked to do, this is great.

Love ur site - Is that a 10-22 or something wide?? Nice!!!
