These are hilarious. I love his forlorn look in #2 and the glasses are a scream, not too keen on the drool though.

completely clueless but learning quickly :)

LOL that third one is priceless :)
4th one is funny too but the 3rd looks more like real doggie behaviour :)

Yes the drool is nasty! The 2nd shoot would be great if the lighting was better. I think I have 100 shots like it in my attempts at capturing our GSD. I like the photos though, he appears to have a lot of personality. Thanks for sharing.

He dose have a TON of personality and has the best temperament I’ve seen in a dog. The drool is the trade off I guess, no free lunch you know. He only gets frothy-mouthed when he's eating and he only eats when we eat. We've got a system though. We keep some paper towels hidden under the tables in the living room and when he's done eating he comes to see myself or my wife for a wipe of his mouth. haha:D

#2 with the lighting issues was only lit by Christmas tree lights and the TV. I thought it made a softer look since he's bright white in color.

Something that's frustrating is that he seems to be scared of the new camera gear in my sig. I don't get it. It's faster and quieter than previous cameras I’ve had. The only reason I caught him in the first one was because he was eating and I had the camera behind my back until the last second. I guess I’ll have to do some training and create some association with the camera by giving him treats every time I take the camera out. It's weird, he used to be a TOTAL HAM with the P&S, but when I pull out the DSLR he leaves the room! Haha Kind of ironic I guess, now that I have gear to capture good images he’s scared of the camera! Ughh…..

Joe -- Love the pics. Your profile indicates you allow editing, so I've taken the liberty of doing a quick touch up on one of the shots. One of my passions is dog photography. When I saw the badly lit, but excellent photo of your boy, I just felt compelled to do things to it. I did some balance adjusting, added a layer, applied at 25 gaussian blur to it, set the layer mode of multiply, did some selective soft erasure over the boy and did some darkening of the background. I think it's still has a soft feel. I did not convert it to black and white. All in all, around 5 minutes work. If you do not like it, let me know and I'll remove it.

Ebondanes, I like it. Thanks! Your description seems like more than 5 min of work. haha

superdiver, he had them on long enough for me to get about 5 pics, then he just sat down and calmly and slowly took a paw and pulled them off. So tolerant of everything. His name is Bogie, we call him Bo.

That sounds like me when trying to photograph birds. They are all over me until I get that camera in my hands, then poof! gone.

Maybe you could try presenting the camara to him. Let him check it out. Just make sure its not after he eats so he doesn't get your gear all "frothy". I have a for instance. I don't generally post additional images in someone else's thread but this was a random shot while introducting the camera to our GSD. This was shot from the hip so to speak. I was trying to get her used to the focus beep and the gear in general. As you can see, she was curious about it.

At least he comes to you. When my dog is done taking a drink, he walks over to my kitchen towel and pulls it off the oven door. Then he proceeds to hold it on the ground with both paws, and wipe his own face clean. I've given up trying to give him his own towel, and just ended up giving him mine.
