Just got my Canon EF100 Macro thanks to you lot :lol:

And it's much harder than I thought. I popped out to the pond to see what I could get and this was the only usable one. I have no idea what this spider is, I can see me having to buy a bug book as well :D

Possibly a wolf spider common in wetlands Pirata piraticus.

Thanks, if it wasn't for the lens I would have probably never noticed it.

That looks like the one, how do you ID things, on the web or can you recommend any good books.

I love how you can see the hair in it's body! I would never get that close to a spider! :eek:

It's a nice shot. :) Sometimes it takes a lot of patience and more than one try. At least it does for me. LOL
