Well here's some bad news.......This morning when I looked at my CC online there was a hold on that amount, I just checked again and that amount was back as available credit. Not a good sign.

I didn't order it, but I feel like I did. So much suspense. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!

I highly doubt anyone will be getting a 1Ds from Apple.

here's part of the email they sent me:

The Apple Online Store had an incorrect description and specifications for a
Cannon camera you recently ordered Part Number TJ281LL/A .

The correct description for this product is the Canon EOS 1D Mark IIn which
sells for $3999, as was displayed on your order confirmation email.

The description and specifications on the Online Store were for the “Canon
EOS 1Ds Mark II”. Apple does not carry this product.

We would be happy to fulfill your order for the Canon EOS 1D Mark IIn, or
you may cancel your order.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely,

Apple Store Customer Support

Heck, Apple has been squeezing it's fiercely loyal consumer base for years. Squeeze back, tell them your gonna all file complaints with the BBB and your states attorney general. Use words like bait and switch the AG loves that. Compare them to those infamous NYC camera shops. Most of you warned them on this and they said it was the 1Ds the whole time, hold them to it.

As DT said,

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Sorry, I couldn't help it.:lol::lol::lol:

If any of you actually do get yourselves a 1DsMkII please be kind enough to post a "I got me a new camera from Apple" thread in the DSLR sub-forum as I don't read this one very often and am really curious how this turns out.

That way I can be envious of your good fortune.

I only came here because of a comment in another thread. And all I will say is had I known about it I would have called in a order even from work were I am not supposed to because I really could use a backup and at that price I know it would be a true bargain.

Apple's lack of communications with their customer base seems lacking to say the least. Time to move on Apple at least talk to us......

As far as I know, nobody got theirs shipped so nobody's going to be getting anything until Apple does ship it.

And, for the anticlimax, I just received that email from Apple.

So no more sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what's going to happen next. I'm now going back to my regularly scheduled programming. It was fun while it lasted. :)

BTW, from now on, I'm going to do all my mispriced shopping at Dell. At least they deliver!
