I'm very tempted to buy one, but does anyone really believe Apple are gonna sell them a $7000 camera for $4000?

Oh man, please please please let this be true, I've wanted a full frame camera for so long and this would so completely rock.

My order said unavailable, so we shall see....

Well everyone, it sure has made for a fun Friday nite;)
I ran into a thread about this and ordered mine about 5:10PM-PDT
and yes, I printed every page and they all said 1DsmkII until I got to the
Order Status page that showed the dreaded "N".....
So yes, I called them as I was YIMing about 3 other friends and knew of about 7 of us that had ordered it by now....and got a rep and explained to him what was going on..
and he explained that he had heard about this and that it was a web error on the Order Status page....I HOPE he is RIGHT!!! This is my birthday present to myself.....
otherwise it's going back.....I also am in CA and ordered Next Day and the next email I got said shipping on Monday arriving on Tuesday....I have learned before that even if it's is shipped early the shipper does not have to deliver until the appointed day....
So I guess many of us will be finding out Tuesday!!! And yes I got the name and location of the rep I spoke to and he had my order number and was documenting the call....so we will all have a nice weekend and then see you back here Tuesday night, right  Thanks to this whole event I found out that this forum exisits , so this is my first post...so HELLO to everyone :) and I love my 1DmkII, but the 1DsmkII would be a nice Bday present .......cheers....

In gratitude and hope to chat with you more later,
Nelcha

When you get the cameras, please post. I'm very curious. Apple probably had to eat the difference, but hey, their loss. :)

The link will take you to the camera, but it currently says "Unavailable"

Also the camera has been removed from the Apple Site....a search of "eos" on the site shows no 1DSMKII, but it did show it yesterday....

I now give this a 1% chance of shipping. I predict these orders will all be canceled by Monday.
