I got in on this order fairly early and if it is a 1DsMKII for this price I'm gonna puke :)

The decision will be whether to keep the old 1DMKII and the 1DsMKII or sell one of them and if so which one. I'll know better on delivery day which is showing as Tuesday the 27th.....gulp..

I am in the same situation as you, if I really do get the 1DsMKII I don't know if I should sell it or keep it and sell my month old 5D...

Well, my card was at least authorized for this purchase. Nope, it does not constitute a sale, but it was definitely authorized. Tomorrow will be an interesting day.

My order status still shows a ship date of 6/26 and a 6/27 delivery.

Thanks Blonde. Yeah, I thought I remember you cashing in on that lens, CDS. Actually, I do not want the 1Ds at all. If it comes through, I'll sell it and get a MKIIn for a second pro sports shooter and then sell the 20D and convert the 10D to IR.

Or, if it doesn't happen, nothing lost and life goes on. I am still so in awe of the 300 2.8 IS nothing else matters much anyway...;)

I didn't read all 66 pages of the thread Jonny linked, but it seems it is about Apple UK, which operates under a different set of laws and presumably has different policies than Apple USA.

Hello have you ever heard the expression, back-up camera?
Or have one on the tripod and one hand held?
They can come in VERY handy as most Pros KNOW!!!
The 500 will be on the Wimberly with the new body
and the 300 will be on the old camera handheld:) , as B4...

Jim, If you do decide to sell yours, I personally know of about 3 folks that have had their order cancelled and their hearts broken....where would you list yours for sale?

And yes, my card has been charged also....and delivery due tomorrow....
I'll be keeping my 1DmkII, but selling the low count 1D that was my backup.
Probably on FM, cuz that's where I know most of the folks....
but definately NOT eBay!!!

Buy we shall see tomorrow.....

In gratitude,
Nelcha

Just got off the phone with Apple and they are emailing everyone telling that they messed up and they do not have the 1Ds but the camera they really have is the N which will be shipping out to everyone unless you decide to cancel your order which they give that option in the email...it was fun while it lasted.

No email here yet......3:45 west coast time.

If that's the case I hope they aren't charging peoples cards. because if they are they will be making some cash in what we call the "float" Let's say they have taken 100 orders, that means they have $400,000 sitting in the bank, and lets just asume that it takes a week to get the credit back on the card.........there's just a bit of interest there.

We'll have to wait and see what happens. Personally I have a comfirmation of a shipped order, so that statement doesn't make sense in my case.

EDIT.........4:10, just called Apple and they know nothing about that. Orders are shipping, and they again confirmed ...........1DS Mk2

7D ......waiting on the 5D3

They're not charging the cards. What they're doing is putting a hold on the card for the amount of the purchase. That means you have that much less on your credit card to use for buying something. So, if you do end up cancelling the order, just make sure they "unhold" the charges. Otherwise, if that hold maxes out your card, you won't be able to use it until the hold is released and who knows how long that takes (a couple of days?).

I can't believe this is so awful. I think we should do a class action lawsuit from people on the POTN who were watching this happening with great anticipation and now all need drugs and therapy for the let down. :)

That’s surprising because the guy who I talked to knew all about it and even confirmed it with his 2 bosses that it will be the Mark II N
