thought i'd copy Sayer's settings with the MP E65 ie f16 iso100. Ringflash rather than diffused and shot in large jpeg but quite pleased.

Great series! The settings seem to work :)

Love #1, she looks ready to walk down the red carpet at the Oscar's
#s 2 and 3 are excellent, poor fly :(
#4 Made me laugh, the hoverfly (?) looks like a puppy that brought its master a dead songbird. So proud :)

Lovely hover in #1- ant shots are wonderful and the last hover is great- "Ok what do you want me to do with it" look. Excellent DOF at slight drop in sharpness.

Nice series Racketman - Ants are amazing workers. Also looks like the fly was a pregnant female. Did the Ants get her, or was she dead already (or you didn't see)? The last shot looks very similar to a shot I took last weekend, same pose, similar type of fly, similar type of leaf, but you managed to get much better DOF than myself.

Hiya Racketman,
Nice group of shots, I like especially #4 cause that hover has at its feet a thing that I took a shot of back a while, I think I asked if anyone new what it was?? an egg or chrysalis. I've got dozens of these things hanging off leaves all by two silk threads.
Hopefully I've managed to bring that shot of mine up so you can have a look see what you think it maybe. apologises if I've messed up
Cheers for now
Mark

Dave

fly was already dead - ants do a good job cleaning up.

Hiya Racketman,
I did wonder if they may be seeds but they all have these two silky attachments points, I guess I should collect some in a jar & see what happens.
Cheers for now
Mark
