...From a reptile Expo I attended a little while back. These are just a few of the ones I took while there. To be honest, I was quite impressed with the outcome considering most of these critters were behind glass or in cages under flourescent lights. Let me know what you guys think.

1. This thing was huge.

Kirk, nice shots considering the situation... were these shot with your 50mm f/1.8? I'm considering picking one up, looks to be a good lens from what I can tell...

Yes they usually have these animals in dark lighted rooms, so the images have picked up well and showing beautiful detail and markings on these reptiles. Well done.

Hey Scott..These were all shot on the kit lens. I JUST got the 50mm and haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet. I did, however, have a monopod with me for the expo, which helped with the slower speed of the kit lens.

I like the shot of the snakes hatching, how did that work out? Did they tell you it was happening soon or did you just get lucky with the timing?

Great face shot on the savannah monitor, and I love the one of the albino pythons hatching!

Justin, they had them hatching all day. They really take their time coming out of their shells. They were hatching all day.
