I had the opportunity to get a few shots of a hornets nest today.
All three were taken with the Sigma EX 105 and are at about 50% crop.

nice gallery on your site. where did you photograph the Black Widow at? Was it in the wild or at an exhibit?

Thanks so much for the compliments. She was in the wild, right next to the front door steps of a fellowship I belong to. They wanted to kill it but I made them wait untill I could get a few shots first. Black widows are quit numberious around these parts.

Nice, very up close and personal, not :confused: Cool pictures, these are actually known as a Southwestern Paper Wasp. I understand they can sting repeatedly and it hurts real bad too.:o :cry: Glad you didn't get stung.

What lens did you use? How far away was the front of your lens?
