The Milkyway is said to contain over 400 billion stars.... here is a small sample

I took this a little over a week ago as one of the first light images with my Canon 30D and canon 24mm f/2.8 lens. A 58 second exposure at ISO 800. I hope to clean this image up a bit more. The orange glow is light pollution. The dark spot on the left of the image is from the dew shield on my telescope

I was up near Mount Evans here in Colorado. The wind was blowing and it was cold but this image, even as it is right now, more then makes up for it.

I only wish a site like this could be seen from my home instead of needing to travel over an hour away.

Love the way the dust shows up within the star cloud. Astrophotography with a DSLR can be challenging.

A magnificent shot of the stars, the long drive was worth it to get a good shot like this.

Think yourself lucky that you only have to travel an hour - light pollution here is so bad you're lucky to get anything at all.
