Sorry but another couple from the trip to France, I got more shots in a week over there than I've got in the U.K. in over a year.
Not a great shot but thought it worth showing just for the length of the antennae. I.D. anyone?

Au contraire, mon ami.. I think it is a pretty good shot, a tad out of focus in a few spots, but very cool looking critter for sure..

Nice shots, but I'd have to agree that you missed the eyes on that first shot :( Lovely colours, composition and bokeh though!

Yep! you're right dave; a poor shot. I have others that were in slightly better focus but it was busy cleaning it's antennae or some thing else, this was the only one with them both raised and in full veiw; sorry.

Thanks for looking

looks like you found a nice Wood Boring Beetle. there are several differnt body types. some have short antenna and this on looks like one of the long-antenna types.

the other picture looks like a robber fly...a fly that mimics a bee for protection. i shot one last night around the house.

Nah, it's not a poor shot Mick - simply just a very tiny bit off focus, still a very good shot, I'd be more than happy with a shot like that :) No need to apologise at all!
