Gary, thanks for the critique! I am new to photography, and am realizing I need a much longer lens than my 28-135 to effectively capture birds... all the pics are heavily cropped.

Well if you can accomplish this with a 28-135 then I think tou will do great things with a big lens.

135 mm lens, you have made some good shots, the last two look exceptionally good for sharpness and detail. The first two are good that shows the landing gear (feet) are out ready to land. Well done.

Anthony, I appreciate the thoughtful and kind comments. thanks. hopefully I can talk the bird into flying lower so I can take a sharper shot... lol. (wishful thinking) they like to stay perched at the top of the tree.
