I used filters some on my old 35mm camera, but does it make a difference on a digital? Can't you go into photoshop and add all that or does it still help to use things like a CP or a ND filter. Thanks, and also if I shoot on B&W with a red filter on will it be the same as on a 35mm? I guess I can try all that myself but when I got rid of my 35 mm I got rid of a lot of my filters and never got the chance to use them. But I use to love adding a red filter and doing B&W, Thanks

I use both a circular polarizer & neutral density filter. I prefer to get the shot right the first time and do as little work in Photoshop as possible (I like having a clean image that hasn't had lots of editing).

I am a software guy, but I used to take photos with good ol' film, before Adobe and Scanners were common practice. I do appreciate the technical ability to edit, crop and enhance photos electronically, however I think that keeping the image as original as possible, helps preserve the craft of being a photographer.
Now that I use DSLRs, I mainly use neutral and Circular Polarizers. Any other filter, when rarely needed, is applied via software. Just my thoughts.
