Picked up my 'nifty' today, and it appears I've purchased a good copy.

muted window light
old oak flooring gives a pleasant bokeh, IMHO

this thread (as for alot of people) has influenced me to REALLY want to go out and get this lense!

the image sharpness you seem to get from it is immac in alot of evry1's shots.. The shallow DOF you can get with this lense is crazy! im looking forward to the day i get it, coz i will be out the whole day :P

btw lense caps come standard with it right? does this lense need a hood at all?

thanks

Yea, this thread also made me get the lense, and yes, it does come with both front and rear caps.

Now, go out and get one! :D

Lens cap yes (as with every lens should come with now a days), and lens hood - no (i guess depends on where you buy it from).
I finally bought my lens hood for this lens sometime 1-2 weeks ago and was shipped out last week; it should be here today or sometime this week ;)

IMO no. The glass is set deeply in the lens...enough to avoid most flare and enough to protect the glass from getting hit.
