It's a great lens if you want creative depth of field.

Order the colour one though, mine was the cheaper black & white version

I don't know how to edit photos very well, so i posted these two and don't know which one is better, i hope one at least is good enough but if both are not then it is my mistake not the lens.

Is that straight from the lens, croped or with a closeup filter?

This uses the 20mm Kenko tube and is slightly cropped. The photo below shows the efect of tubes with this lens. This lens is a little short to take close ups of insects that are nervous but this was taken in the middle of a tomato plant so it would be hard to be much farther back without something else getting in the way.

Looks like some great pics - I just bought this lens. I can't wait :O

(I have a MF 50 1.8, but in the kinda dark situations you tend to use this in, its pretty hard to focus well.)

Blueflag Iris growing wild in the Francis Marion National Forest shot with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 on a 350D @ f/8. Cropped but otherwise straight from the camera.

Well you convinced me (not that I needed much!). I took this about an hour with my brand new 50mm F1.8:D
