that's true....I keep forgetting about the holidays :o

I recently purchased a set of the RF-602 wireless transmitter/receiver that everyone is apparently raving about. it took over two weeks to ship them....of course that's nothing compared to your actual camera getting "taken" away for the Canon kids to play with :-(

at least hopefully by now you have gotten some type of email from them to let you know your camera is in their care/serviced.

Yeah it's the holidays that have ruined everything for me ARGGHH!

You know I was going insane, I kinda felt like my child had been taken away from me lol, I rang my retailer a few times to find out what's going on because I didn't send it directly to Canon, rather I took it instore to where I purchased it from and they would've sent it to Canon, when I called they said it would be delivered to them by the 30th and now it's the 6th :/ if I don't get it in 2 days i'm gonna go mad!

I was so tempted to buy a new camera for a while, i've decided I should always have a back up and maybe it's time to purchase one.

To be honest, they've been awfull, no contact, no nothing.

that is bad....hopefully someone didn't think it was a new shipment and sold your camera (just kidding).

I started out with a Rebel XS (1000D) earlier this year, and then moved to a 40D. I still have my XS as a backup in case I ever need to send my 40D in for repairs.

It's always a good idea, while my camera was gone my cousin was begging me to photograph her party, I felt so bad she really wanted some cool shot, if I had a back up slr I would've been sorted that day :*(

Lol, if they did send my camera off, I best be getting a new one from them :p

you think that's bad...my 40D died in the middle of dec....but i decided not to send it in then because of the holidays, and all...now my brother and sister in law are set to have a baby tomorrow...i'm going to either steal my dads XSI, or use an old Elan 7e film camera....i'm really regretting not sending it in earlier...hopefully it's a late baby :)

Dude atleast you can borrow one, I tried hiring one for my cousins party, I could buy a decent lens for the ridiculous amount they ask to pay for camera hire

I hope you can get a camera in time :)

what about renting a camera and lens as opposed to hiring a photographer to take pictures?

lol that's my problem....I'll continue buying lenses and gear (as I save money0...but I'll probably never get to a point where I'm charging for pictures lol....I'd hate to charge someone and end up taking crappy pictures.

Oh my, that's the same as me, i'd feel like i'm robbing someone if I ended up taking crap photos, I have way too much to learn before I start charging anyone!
