This lens is so good and so cheap I don't know why it isn't included with every body sold.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

Good point. But I bet after people used it, Canon would have a hard time selling many of their lenses. For my purposes, I feel the 50 1.8 II is amazing. It's just about as sharp as Canon's best lenses. I don't feel the need to upgrade it to something else unless it breaks. When it does I will buy another 50 1.8 II.

So is it your camera? They figured out where they misplaced it or did you end up getting a replacement?

while I agree this 50 is very good for many things, it's not the end all be all of anything other then cheap 50mm lenses. :D it wont compete with a 70-200 for example based on focal length, so it wont stop the sales of other lenses that people desire.

But it did stop me from picking up a 50 1.4 or a 50 1.2L, and more than likley a 35 F2. It also stopped me from picking up a 17-55.

I was debating on getting the 50 1.4

I think I'm holding out for the 24-70 2.8 though....only a few more hundred bucks to save lol.
