One of our latest canine additions taken with my nifty. He is 5 months old and I love how I caught him licking his chops!

Bobster, I LOVE that!!

I had a rough weekend. I'll start with happier images - these are both taken at my mother-in-law's house whom we were visiting this weekend.

IMAGE: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4051/4301805611_ea3b27f8df.jpg

And, then while we were up visiting my mother-in-law, my dad called me to tell me my beloved best friend and canine companion, Annie, had passed in their home. She was sick with what I believe was cancer, and I had known for some time she didn't have a ton of time left. My dad, who has always called her his favorite dog, despite the fact that he has three of his own, has been very upset over her death. I've seen him lose his own father and recently battle a long fight of cancer and never once have I heard him cry near as hard as I heard him cry when he told me Annie had died. I rescued her almost six years ago from a rescue shelter when I first moved to a city where I knew no one and owned nothing. It was just me, her and an air mattress in my newly signed lease for a bit. She was an adult when I rescued her (and that's a story in itself considering I wanted to adopt a puppy and she wouldn't leave my side while I was looking), but she's been nothing but the most loving, caring, kind dog I've ever met. Honestly, my family and friends call her the "old soul" because when you look in her eyes and talk to her, she listens to you - no matter how long and often times I have felt much more like she took care of me rather than I took care of her. I will greatly miss her. Here's the last image I took of her on Jan 8:

And, here's today's 2010 project image of her burial. We dug a very deep hole in my parent's back yard where she loved to be the most and this is as we were almost finished after laying her to rest:

Sorry for your loss - sweet animals like your Annie are like family.

Ooh, I love this. Tell me about it?
I'd be interested in knowing what the camera settings were (including ISO). Oh, and what camera? Hand held? Just the light in a restaurant, or is this a studio/home set-up?
(I like to take pics of my food, and they never come out this good!)
