Well there's your problem! The Nikon hood is obviously incompatible with the Canon lens, and caused it to self-destruct.

I'm not too happy with the bokeh on this little guy. Thinking I will buy a new 1.4. My old one broke :(

I think the shot turned out great. Any shallower DOF and you'd lose the setting...which I think makes the photograph.

It's a Nikon snap on hood for the Nikon 50 F1.4 Ai. Since both the filter threads are 52mm they fit just fine on either lenses. :D

Aw dang! I should've known. Actually I think you're kinda correct. If I hadn't attach the hood on the lens, it might not have been ripped out by my friend. :lol:
