I would like to get some macro extension tubes for this lens, does anyone have any suggestions of manufacturer? I was looking at the official canon ones but I won't use it enough to justify the price.

Are the one's on ebay for about $10 ok for the job? I am looking to do close up wedding ring shots.

cheers

keno tubes are your best bet. Spending 10 buck will get you crap. Can also get a dcr-250.

I agree that Kenko tubes are probably the best option. They have a decent build that won't break or pop loose under the weight of most basic lenses. Just don't use them with that 70-200 f/2.8 or 800mm you're getting for x-mas.

And like spanspace said, don't overlook the capabilities of a Raynox DCR-250 close-up filter. This will also work on all of your lenses with quicker, easier removal than the tubes.

I bought one of these on Saturday. Absolutely love it. Only been playing a bit, out and about in town, but love the DoF on a portriat. I just need to get used to how shallow the depth can be when it's right down at 1.8!

I've been thinking about getting these - cheaper than Kenko but they have metal mounts - http://www.adorama.com/MCAETEOS.html (external link)

Im sorry i dont know what you meant by my META. But my setup was simply natural lighting, no filters and a little bit of PP with cs5. Also shot with a 7d.
