Narcissus flies mating

Heard a racket coming from a bush and found these narcissus flies mating. The male was continously using it's wings which make a loud buzz- the frequency of which was going up and down. In the third shot the male suddenly stopped flapping it's wings and went rigid. Shortly after it disengaged. Caught up with the male a few mins later with the MPE-65- looking decidedly knackered:).

LOL :) gotta love it
he actually does look pretty knackered in the last shot.... you can practically hear him panting :)

It was funny after the third shot the male actually fell over sideways (unfortunately also out of focus), but I'm not suprised- the amount energy going into the mating was quite high :)
