Controlling Intervalometer with OS X

Recently I have gained an interest in using the intervalometer function, unfortunately I find the built in function on my Powershot Pro1 inadequate. I downloaded the newest version of Imagebrowser which is getting closer to what I am looking for, sub 1 minute intervals, but controlling the camera from the Camerawindow app feels clumsy.

I would like to frame and control the settings on the actual camera then use a program to regulate the shot interval. As far as I can tell Camerawindow doesn't allow you to physically operate the camera. One last caveat is that I need a program for Mac OS X.

Thanks for any advice. This seems like a wonderful forum and I look forward to exploring it further.
