8 bit vs 16 bit when resizing

I created an action to put a 3/8" white border around images, then resize the whole image to 6x4. The action takes RAW files, adjusted in ACR and outputs to jpg.

I realized after I created the action that I had opened the images in PS as 8 bit. Is it best to open up native RAW files and apply the adjustements above in 16 bits, or does it really matter?

If those are the only adjustments you're making, then 8-bit is fine. If you're doing any curves or levels adjustment, or anything other than size, basically, then you'd want to open and do that work in 16-bit mode.
