Just ordered one of these to play around with  should be here Monday. Sounds like I will be content based on most of the reviews here.

I didn't say anything about the 17-40L, only the new 17-70.

Wow......some of you really need to READ THE WHOLE INCIDENT!!!! If a few of you would have done that, you would have seen that I didn't realize that there was actually a new model out as it wasn't shown when I looked at the website......But that there was a link posted shortly after that and I said something like, "oops, my bad.....didn't see that they actually did have a new model."!!!

I did read the whole thread, I simply said "Funny stuff" after Flam did the same thing you did so no need to get huffy its just "Funny stuff" to read

The new lens has been on Sigmas page for quite some time now?

No worries, all. The original (f/2.8-4.5 non-OS) is a great lens. I had it at one time and it provided me with some excellent shots when I had a crop camera. I'm sure that the new version with OS and 1/3 faster aperture on the long end will be a nice improvement. Go out and shoot some photos!

My appologies Lantz, I didn't actually mean to yell it (so to speak). I was already in a pissy mood from something else and I guess it was just the way you had worded it that kinda set me off. Lets just put the matter behind us shall we.

Please. My appologies too.
I meant no insult by it if it came across that way, I just chuckled and typed it out. probably should have kept it to myself.

I've been looking at the specks for the new lens version, and it looks like it's going to be very intriguing. OS was something I had been wanting on it for a while for one.

Well done Pauly_G! Great tone and shadows for a wintery scene.
