yes mine does that using the onboard flash, i just take the hood off. I presume with a 430 or 530 flash this wouldn't happen

nope it doesn't, time for another upgrade guys

Some shots with my new lovely 17/70:D a MACRO AT 70mm f5 and its crop! ISO 800 so there is a bit of digital dust in the 100%crop!
No postwork...just the jpg compression. This is a fantastic piece of glass!

i just got mine today, this may sound n00b but, what settings do you need to use it's MACRO functionality (i.e does macro work at all lengths between 17 and 70 etc)

Hi, macro works without any particular setting...but the best magnification is at 70mm!!! The results ara: 1:1,89 checked by me and better of house results!

Excellent picture of the watch, Hedoniste. I have been monitoring this thread for a while and just love what I am seeing.

Presently I am using a Sigma 18-200mm and although it has an excellent range, the quality of the images does not compare to that of the 17-70mm. I'm wondering whether to replace the 18-200mm or just add the 17-70mm...

I would love if people can post some 100% crops wide open with this lens. I have the SIgma 18-50mm F/2.8 EX DC which I love but the extra reach would be nice. Also, can anyone tell me if it has a full-time manual focus ring? Thanks!

Yeah, I had asked the salesman at Henry's if the lens had Full time manual focus the first time I picked up this lens, and he reached over the counter and flipped the MF/AF switch. I wanted to roll my eyes at him...
