These endangered deer live only in the FL Keys, actually in a fairly small area. While it is illegal to feed them, some people do. That's why they will approach as soon as you park alongside the road. The first shot includes my car so one can see how small these deer are.

Great shots of a beautiful animal, especially in velvet! :grin:

My brother was stationed in KeyWest back in my college days and we would see them from time to time during our travels there. You're right, it is a very limited area that you might see them in.

Very good shots Stan, looks like drivers will have to be very careful when driving at night, they look so small.

Exactly so, Tony. Speed limits are reduced and warnings given for their area, but still quite a few are struck by cars.

I love key deer!! :) We own a second home in the lower keys and have to drive through the key deer reserve areas and I can always spot at least two. Great photos of this endangered species! :)
