Wild horse and bird on the NC Outer Banks... (both wild)

Drove up the beach of North Carolina to the NC/VA line. Came across these two subjects...

The first is a member of about 5-7 wild horses that happened to be grazing along the dunes as I drove by...

Not sure of the Id of the bird, but Looking at the horse, this is a good shot showing beautiful colour, excellent shots.

Maybe an immature heron of some variety. Hard to tell from the headshot.

That's a beautiful horse. It looks hungry.

Looks like a Common Loon - not often seen out of the water. I love the the colors of the horse shot.
