Hi all,

I've not had much luck posting photo's that have received a positive response lately, so perhaps these will have more interest.

This is a ghekko that my cat, Marcus, brough inside last night. I was at the computer and I notice Marcus playing around with a shoe I had on the longeroom floor. Suspecting what was happening (he's done it before), I went and had a look and found this little fellow underneath. Grabbed him, pissing Marcus off, and with him in one had (the ghekko, not Marcus), I grabbed the camera. 10 or so shots late, here are 2 of the best:

Another pose (he was fairly active and was hard to get focus and hold him under the light!):

The Kimberley Toilet Frog story is as follows. This little guy was in the toilet bowl when I went to... well, you know...:

Not having the heart to flush, I fished him out and he posed for a few shots before I ...

Let him go from where he came! So, particularly the ladies, beware, before sitting down on toilets in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, CHECK THE TOILET BOWL!

Hope you enjoyed, Simon....

Thanks Sandi, appreciate the comments. He was pretty cute, but kept climbing up my arm. Taking photo's, one handed, with the massive 24-70 was pretty hard. I see you're moving up a league with your gear.

He's the Desert Tree Frog (Litioria rubella), great find!

Really? Wasn't hard to find, just lifted the seat ;).

Here's another view, as he appears to be the favourite:

Incredible find and both by accident. One that the cat brought in and lifting the toilet seat. Amazing! Great little creatures. I'll have to check my toilets from now on, up to now it's only been spiders.

Unfortunately, Tony, it's not the first the cat's brought in. However, usually, I get to rescue them before they're finished with and they go to live another day...

If you're in the UK, I don't think you'll have too much risk of finding a Desert Tree Frog there .

Cheers!

Well, they are actually pretty common, but it is good to see frogs other than the Green Tree Frog.

Ummm ... that reminds me, it's time to change my car insurance LOL

Great shots of the little guys. Is that the same frog? It has complete different colors from the arm shot to the toilet shot.

Most Australian tree frogs can change colour quite drastically, my pet frog changes from bright green to dark brown.

It's most definately the same fellow. Quite possibly a change when I developed from the RAW image, the 'toilet shot' was quite under-exposed, so I edited the levels a little.

I've just checked the originals and it does look like he changed colours.

Thanks for your interest!

Thanks for the identification, I spent 15 mins or so browsing the web looking at frog sites as a result.

I once had 3 or 4 frogs come out from under the rim when I flushed the loo in Paraburdoo (in the Pilbara, somewhat more south), but I didn't get them in time! I think they're cute...
