As Imcomplete Pete has already said, limited shooting places yesterday at Donington Park plus additional fencing to make it even harder to get good shots.

Lovely shot of Valentino. His yellow bike/leathers are really photogenic! MotoGP is definately on my list of events to see next year! Just heard Donington isn't so good for photos :(

Thanks antc and AzzA for the comments. All photos were taken through fencing using a Canon 100-400 or the Bigma (first outing and slightly disappointed cos there is no focussing switch like the 100-400).
Donington is my local circuit and I think it has as many photo opportunities for spectators as most other UK circuits.

Thanks very much for posting these, really cheered me up. Wanted to go on Saturday myself but couldn't make it because I was looking after the little one. Great great, shots under difficult cirmstances (tell me about the fences!). The one of Vali is my favourite.

Hi Paul,

As usual up to your very high standards. I was going but unfortunatly could'nt in the end. I have never been to Donny, but looking at the TV images, spectators seem to be a long way off? Are these fairly big crops? or are there places to get close?

Love the one of Valentino really cool. I don't suppose you have one of my all time fav Colin Edwards??

Cheers mate

Well Done

Rob - MotoGP is more restricted as inside of Redgate is closed off for corporate hospitality and the exit from Melbourne loop from the paddock is only available for those with a pass. The Fogarty Esses is the place that most photograph from (images 1 and 3) and you can get quite close from the exit of Goddards (images 2 and 4).

Anyway, just for you.....

Many thanks Paul, there great images. If he is still racing next year he is my main target, not sure what he is doing yet, moto GP maybe back to WSB or maybe even BSB!! Just hope he don't retire as I want an image of him on my wall next JR and Leon Haslam.

Regards

Rob
