Spent some time today scanning some slides from a trip to Prague in 1987. Apparently I took a lot of street images. Canon A1 slide film of various types, mostly Ektachromes.

Great shots Ed. We can admire achievements of the communist car industry ;-)a Plenty of Czechoslovakian Skoda 105L, USSR Lada and Polish Polonez. Western world is represented by the Italian Fiat Uno. Fashion has changed a little bit as well ;-)a The only thing that hasn't changed is nice architecture which still can be admired in Prague.

Oh, my memories from that period came back. Thanks for sharing.

Ha! Thanks, Adrian. I love your photos, BTW. Those Skodas were everywhere, our host hated them!! We were visiting a scientist friend who was at Charles University in Prague. He still is! That's my wife in the second photo with the blue bag, that ubiquitous blue bag in so many of my photos. I didn't want to bomb this thread but there are a bunch more of these in an album on my flickr page and some I haven't scanned yet, check back.

This was where Beethoven lived, such beautiful buildings all over the city!! I would love to go back and see it now, in the post-Soviet era.
