Portrait Hand Strap

I'm always a little shakey with my portrait orientation shots mainly because of the lack of a secure grip on the camera (20D with grip and RRS base plate) and fear of dropping the camera. Has anyone come across a hand strap to secure the camera when in portrait orientation? All I'm really after is something that tethers the camera to my wrist. Something as simple as those little P&S straps seems fine but unfortunately the Canon E1 strap takes up the bottom loop on the grip. I've tried looping the POTN strap around my wrist but that gets messy.

What else is taking up the bottom loop on the grip? Is there any way to do the same thing the E-1 does with the standard neck strap on the top and have them both on the same loop, whatever it is?

Nothing else part from the E1 strap. When the E1 strap is feed through the loop on the grip there's little clearance to put through anything other than those small lanyard type straps that come with P&S cameras.

I just saw this thing on Optech's website, second item down:

It's a potential solution and thin enough to feed through the loop on the grip. I just wonder whether it's strong enough to hold should the camera slip from my hand.

I think it offers more stability by using the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera.

Thanks. I saw that one also but wasn't too sure how it works with the E1 strap already in place. That and the tripod mount is currently occupied by the RRS base plate unfortunately.

lol oh ok nevermind then. I was actually looking in to a tripod or a monopod for myself but I'm not sure which one to get so i will prob be starting a new thread in a matter of seconds asking for oppinions.

Thanks. Very similar to the E1 strap. I think the only solution is a cheapo P&S strap and just hope that I never have to test its strength if the camera accidently slips out of my hand
